Obituary: Bonnie Jean Crawford

Bonnie Jean Crawford passed away June 4, 2021, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Soda Springs, Idaho on May 20, 1930, to Gertrude and Waltzy Elliott.  

Her family moved to Winnemucca, where she graduated from Winnemucca Grammar School and Humboldt County High School. 

She married William (Bill) Crawford on June 5, 1949 - Bill’s birthday to ensure he never forgot their anniversary. They shared two wonderful children, Becky, and Craig. 

She worked for Kirk Day at the Humboldt County Extension Office. After her husband retired as the Postmaster, she retired from her office too. 

They soon purchased an R.V. and their travels started. Bonnie and Bill traveled 49 States together, leaving Alaska as the only state not explored. 

They settled down Boise, Idaho to be with their grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

After ten years in Idaho, they moved back to Winnemucca where Bonnie celebrated 72 years of marriage with her love, Bill. 

She is survived by her husband, Bill. Son, Craig, Grandchildren, Jason and Brandon Willer and great grandchildren, Bri, Charly and Maxel. Sister, Beverly Mendiola and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Becky. 

Services for Bonnie will be held at the Winnemucca Cemetery on June 17, 2021, at 11:00 am. 

Luncheon following at the Boys and Girls Club 12:00 - 2PM.
