Battle Mountain swimmers compete in Carson City

The Battle Mountain NNA Swim Team was in Carson City from May 28-31 for four days of swimming at the Carson City 2021 Intermountain Class. The group is coached by Michelle Hall.

Nevaeh Serna was fourth in the girls 10 and under 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 51.54 seconds, an improvement of 19.67 seconds. 

She was the runner-up in the 200-meter freestyle, 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter backstroke and 100-meter freestyle. 

She had a time of 1:26.56 in the 100-meter freestyle, a 25.15 second improvement. Serna stopped the clock at 3:06.26 in the 200-meter freestyle and she took off 11.86 seconds in the 50-meter freestyle to post a time of 38.83. She took nearly 25 seconds off her time in the 100-meter backstroke to finish at 1:35.75

Serna was third in the 50-meter backstroke (45.86) and fifth in the 50-meter butterfly (49.87), as 22.12 second improvement.

Shayne McMillin cut nearly 11 seconds off her time in the 100-meter backstroke to finish 22nd with a time of 1:30.22 in the girls 11-13-years old division.

McMillin placed seventh in the 200-meter freestyle (3:36.87), 19th in the 50-meter freestyle (34.63), 18th in the 10-meter breaststroke (1:43.45), 18th in the 200-meter individual medley (3:16.13) and 19th in the 100-meter freestyle with a time of 1:16.89, a 11.43 second improvement.

Zayne Hall took off 13.43 seconds to place 35th in the boys 14 and over 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:21.05. Hall was 22nd in the 100-meter backstroke at 1:20.78, a 6.35 second improvement and he was 34th in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 28.77, a 2.25 second improvement.

Hall sliced off nearly 15 second sin the 200-meter individual medley to stop the clock at 2:52.79 and he was 32nd in the 100-meter breaststroke at 1:33.97, 12.80 seconds quicker than his previous best. Hall placed 21st in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:56.43, a 13.15 second improvement and he was 43rd in the 100-meter freestyle (1:07.44).

In the girls 11-13-year-old division, Suzie Thompson was 17th in the 50-meter breaststroke at 59.84, 26th in the 200-meter individual medley (3:37.37) and 32nd in the 100-mneter freestyle (1:31.64).

Piper Linnenbringer was 13th in the girls 10 and under 50-meter backstroke with a time of 1:03.67. In addition, she placed 19th in the 50-meter breaststroke (1:08.76) and 19th in the 50-meter freestyle (57.49).

McKenzie Linnenbringer finished fourth in the girls 10 and under 50-meter freestyle with a time of 56.16, fourth in the 100-meter freestyle (2:09.78) and fifth in the 50-meter backstroke (1:02.82).
