RENO — Nevada Football will have five contests (three home, two road) broadcast on CBS Sports Network in 2021, as the Mountain West announced the CBS and CBS Sports Network selections Wednesday.
Nevada’s CBS Sports Network slate will begin with two-straight games at Mackay Stadium.
The Pack will host New Mexico State Saturday, Oct. 9, for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff, followed by another 7:30 p.m. kick the following Saturday, Oct. 16, against Hawai’i.
The Battle For the Fremont Cannon will kick off Nevada Day Weekend, as the Pack hosts UNLV Friday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m.
Nevada’s two road contests on CBS Sports Network will take place in November, beginning with Saturday, Nov. 13’s 7:30 p.m. kickoff at San Diego State.
The second of those games will also be the Pack’s regular-season finale, a 7 p.m. MT (6 p.m. PT) start at Colorado State Saturday, Nov. 27.
Nevada launched its football season ticket renewal process April 16, and 2019 season ticket holders who have questions or may need assistance with how to renew for 2021 can contact the ticket office at 775-348-PACK (7225) or by emailing wolfpackticketinfo@unr.edu.
Fans who were not season ticket holders in 2019 and wish to place a deposit on season tickets for 2021 can do so for just $50 by visiting www.nevadawolfpack.com/FBTicketDeposit.
The Wolf Pack has been working on new initiatives to the gameday experience at Mackay Stadium.
This process has been years in the making and developed, in part, based off feedback from fan surveys in previous seasons. Complete details are still being finalized and more enhancements are planned for coming seasons.
Among the new
features for
the 2021 season:
• A new all-fans-welcome tailgating experience called the We Are Nevada Fan Zone near Jensen Plaza north of Mackay Stadium, with food trucks, live entertainment and more!
• A revamped in-game production with new videoboard features, promotions, giveaways and fan experiences.
• Affordable tickets and payment models as the department has lowered the cost of tickets in 100 percent of the seating areas in Mackay, and is offering payment plan models.
• Full digital ticketing to make the sales and transfer process more efficient and fan-friendly.
• Reduced costs on some concession items throughout the stadium and increased efficiencies to purchase concessions
• A new customer service initiative called “Ask Alphie” to make parking and stadium maps more easily available, answer questions and add a new level of information and service for Wolf Pack fans.
The department has also worked with the marching band and the Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) to move the student section and the band to the south end zone and southeast corner of the stadium to enhance the student experience and overall environment inside the stadium.
The Wolf Pack football team is coming off a 7-2 record in the abbreviated 2020 season, which included a dominating win over Tulane in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. Nevada returns junior quarterback Carson Strong, the reigning Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year.
The Wolf Pack also brings back first-team All-Mountain West selections in wide receiver Romeo Doubs, the Mountain West’s only 1,000-yard receiver in 2020, tight end Cole Turner, who shared the conference lead with Doubs in touchdown catches (nine), and kicker Brandon Talton.
The 2021 Nevada squad will also feature second-team All-Mountain West picks running back Toa Taua, offensive lineman Aaron Frost, defensive linemen Dom Peterson and Sam Hammond, and linebacker Lawson Hall, in addition to six All-Mountain West Honorable Mention players in offensive linemen Jacob Gardner, Tyler Orsini, and Jermaine Ledbetter, along with defensive backs Tyson Williams and Berdale Robins, and punter Julian Diaz.
Nevada opens the 2021 season the weekend of Sept. 3-5 at California, and the Mackay home opener is Sept. 11 against Idaho State.
