Obituary: Randy Dale Owen

Randy Dale Owen, 44, passed away at his home on July 14, 2021, of natural causes. He was born on May 14, 1977, in Reno, NV to Charlene and Dale Owen. 

Randy was a lifelong resident of Winnemucca, NV and graduated from Lowry High School with the class of 1996. 

He was a Certified Survey Technician and worked for numerous gold mines in the area. Randy was very talented in the field and enjoyed the many challenges it brought. 

He had an infectious smile and a very witty sense of humor. He enjoyed Star Wars and Marvel Movies, camping and fishing and any type of adventure. He was always ready to go.

He loved taking the yearly “Brother Trip” to the desert with his brothers and son. He could be counted on to help anyone in any situation, therefore, earning him the nickname of “Rescue Randy”. 

Randy is survived by his daughter, McKenna and son, Jackson. Mother, Char Owen and father, Dale Owen. His brothers, Tim (Nichole) Owen, Robert (Jenna) Owen, and Dane (Makenna) Owen. Nieces and Nephews, Avery, Kadence, Straton, Teigan and Peyton. Aunts and Uncles, Rick and Jana Harrison and Rick and Cheryl Lyons, cousins, Brian, Adam, Brenna, and Addie Lee. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Marilynn Lyons, and Arie and Bernice Owen. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 1 pm at the West Hall of the Convention Center in Winnemucca, NV. 

Randy will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure to know him and love him. 

Those we love don’t go away,

Unseen, unheard, but always near,

Still loved, still missed and very dear.
