Mark Tucker Sharp, age 35, was arrested last week following an allegation that he shot from a moving vehicle toward two individuals in one incident on Monroe Street and then fled from officers when they attempted to initiate a traffic stop on McNinch Road outside Winnemucca.
He was arrested without injury in the parking lot of Winners Casino in Winnemucca.
The incident was reported at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, and lasted about 30 minutes according to a press release.
Sharp was charged with multiple citations from both the Winnemucca Police Department and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office based on each incident jurisdiction.
One passenger was present in the vehicle, later determined to not be involved in any criminal activity.
During the incident, the Boys & Girls Club of Winnemucca was placed on lockdown as a safety precaution (no indirect threat known).
The schools were on summer break and were not impacted.
In one case, Sharp was charged with Assault with use of deadly weapon-victim is a first responder, fail to drive on the right half of roadway, fail to maintain lane/improper lane change/fail to use signal, driver failure to obey red traffic light, driver evade, elude or fail to stop on the signal of a peace officer, endangering other person or property and basic speed violation - 21 miles per hour or greater over the posted speed limit.
The Winnemucca Police Department charges include own or possess a firearm by a prohibited person, fail to drive on the right half of the roadway, driver fail to obey red traffic light and turn signals required.
Sharp was transported to the hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Humboldt County Detention Center.
