Karen Rae Heinz, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away of natural causes at her home in Battle Mountain, Nevada on June 25, 2021.

Karen was born to Ralph and Margie Fisk-Cook on March 1, 1949 in The Dalles, Oregon, and attended Burns Union High School as part of the class of 1968.

She married Edward T. Heinz in Lovelock, Nevada on November 26, 1971, and they lived in Burns, Oregon, until 1980, before moving to Battle Mountain.

Karen loved to crochet, knit, and do arts and crafts. She volunteered with the Battle Mountain Hospital Auxiliary for several years, babysat many local children, and spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by twin sister Christie Lee Cook, brother Kenneth, mother Margie, and father Ralph. She is survived by brother Robert Cook, husband Edward Heinz, son Thomas (Quincee) Heinz, daughter Cristy Guadette; grandchildren Sara, Levi, Mark, Christopher, and Alissa, and great-grandchildren Malachai and Mayella.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 3, at 11am, at Tom and Quincee’s home at 1982 T. Jefferson Ave, Battle Mountain, NV 89820.

Food and drinks will be provided.

The family would like to thank the Battle Mountain EMS and Sheriff’s Department for their service.
