John Wesley Gould passed away on January 15, 2021, at the age of 70. He was born on March 16, 1950 in King City, California to Charles Virgil and Mamie Catherine Gould.
He grew up in Northern California and graduated from Fortuna High School in Fortuna, California. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War for 4 years.
John married Linda Fletcher in 1970 eventually divorcing in 1982. He married Donna Marie Gould in May of 1986 and the two were married until her passing 7 years ago.
John loved fishing and camping with his family. He especially enjoyed hunting and being outdoors with his sons-in-laws and grandchildren. Arguing for the sake of arguing was a passion for him.
John especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They brought light to him.
He loved his family with his whole heart. He was a wonderful dad and grandfather.
He taught his children so many things throughout his life and he was so proud of the children he raised.
His son, Thom remembers the pride and respect in his father’s eyes when he retired from the Air Force.
His daughter Michelle remembers the day she married Larry he was so proud and the day she had his first grandchild he paced the hall at the hospital. Crystal always delighted in his intense concentration when he was playing videogames, his tongue was always sticking out in concentration.
Christina remembers John teaching her to ride her first bike and how to swim.
Steven was always impressed with the way his dad would use a deck of cards to tell crazy stories.
John Wesley Gould is survived by his children, Michelle (Larry) Dowd, Crystal (Dean) Oliver, Thomas Gould, Christina (Joshua) Wortley and Steven (Coleen) Gould. Grandchildren, Brandon Dowd, Kayla Heigel, Jazzie Lay, Joseph Bame, Evan Bame, Kaiden Bame, Tyrell Wortley, Alonso Wortley, Dyani Wortley, Josie Wortley and Lakoda Wortley. Great-grandchildren, Jaxson Hill, Hailey Hill, Alia Lay, Oreona Lay, Sophia Lay, and Lincoln Lay. He is also survived by his siblings, Brenda Turner, Janice Van Ness, Lloyd Gould and Nina Gould. He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Gould. His parents; Charles and Mamie Gould. Sister, Catherine Moran and brothers-in-laws, Mike Turner and Van Van Ness.
