RENO – Thirteen Nevada football players were named to the All-Mountain West team by Phil Steele’s College Football Magazine this week.

Nevada landed four players on the first team in quarterback Carson Strong, wide receiver Romeo Doubs, tight end Cole Turner and kicker Brandon Talton.

The Pack saw five second-team honorees with running back Toa Taua, offensive lineman Aaron Frost, defensive linemen Dom Peterson and Sam Hammond, and linebacker Lawson Hall.

Center Tyler Orsini earned third-team honors along with cornerback BerDale Robins and punter Julian Diaz. Doubs was also named to the third team as a punt returner.

True freshman wideout Tory Horton earned fourth-team accolades.

Also this week, senior end Tristan Nichols was named to the Associated Press All-Bowl team for his play in Nevada’s win over Tulane in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl last month.

Nichols recorded back-to-back sacks as part of five straight sacks spanning Greenwave drives in the second half.
