Ruben Solorio-Rebolledo was recently ordered to serve a 24 to 60 month prison sentence following a guilty plea for driving under the influence (DUI) with two prior convictions within seven years, a felony in Nevada.
Solorio-Rebolledo previously participated in the Humboldt County DUI court and completed the program, making him ineligible to participate in the program again and instead leaving a prison sentence as the only option to serve for the charge.
Sixth Judicial District Court Judge Michael Montero previously granted the allowance of a deferral of the sentencing hearing, which allowed the defendant to have Thanksgiving with his family before going to serve the mandatory prison sentence.
“My client has had no prior felonies and is remorseful of what happened,” said defense attorney Max Stovall. “He has had every opportunity here.”
Humboldt County District Attorney Kevin Pasquale said that the defendant has a clear problem with alcohol but has always taken responsibility for his actions throughout court processes, recommending the minimum sentence in agreement with Stovall.
Solorio-Rebolledo thanked the courts for everything prior to being sentenced.
Montero ordered that he serve 24 to 60 months in prison with two days credit for time served, pay a $2,000 fine + $25 administrative assessment fee + $60 drug chemical analysis + $153 DNA collection and analysis fees.
