Union Township Justice Court

The Humboldt Sun reports all felony hearings, misdemeanor convictions and dismissals for which the court releases information. Dec. 1 

Augustin Duenas Zamora pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine + $140 administrative assessment with fines and fees suspended on the condition that an anger management class be completed and proof of completion provided. 



Andres Lopez pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless driving and was ordered to pay a $500 fine + $140 administrative assessment. 



Andres Lopez pleaded guilty to count one: misdemeanor violation of a temporary or extended protective order, count two: violation of a temporary or extended protective order and count three: obstructing a police officer. 

On count one the court ordered a $1000 fine + $140 administrative assessment. 

On count two the court ordered a $1000 fine + $140 administrative assessment. 

On count three the court ordered a $1000 fine + $140 administrative assessment with credit given for seven days time served ($1050) and the remaining $2,370 balance suspended for one year on the condition that there are no further TPO violations on any TPO filed against the defendant. 



Dec. 2

A misdemeanor charge of open container of alcoholic beverage against Gavin P. Parry was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations. 



A misdemeanor charge of domestic battery against Tamra Anne Kolton was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office in open court with prejudice as the case could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. 



Marie Rolando pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia . The court ordered a $500 fine + $140 administrative assessment, converted to one day jail with one day credit for time served given. 

A misdemeanor unlawful use of a controlled substance charge was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office in open court pursuant to plea negotiations. 



Jared Alan Holm pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. 

The court ordered a $1,000 fine + $140 administrative assessment with credit given of $300 for two days jail time served. A misdemeanor driving while license is cancelled/revoked/suspended was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office in open court. 



A felony possession of a controlled substance charge against Jared Alan Holm was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office in open court pursuant to negotiations. 



A misdemeanor unlawful use of a controlled substance charge against Arturo Manuel Valdez was dismissed in open court on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations. 



Dec. 6

Alvin Earl Dick pleaded guilty to misdemeanor trespass and was ordered credit for one day jail time served. 



Dec. 7

A misdemeanor charge of duty to give information and render aid against Jessica Romo was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office on a one-time dismissal and the fine was paid in full on a misdemeanor failure to yield at an intersection charge in the same case. 



A misdemeanor charge of unsafely pass or overtake on left side on two-lane, two directional roadway against Joseph Richard Shirley Jr. was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to negotiations and defendant made arrangements to make payments on a misdemeanor basic speed 31-40 over limit charge. 



A felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle charge against Michael Troy Thompson was dismissed without prejudice on a motion by the DA’s office. 



A felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle charge against Omar Said Ahmed was dismissed without prejudice on a motion by the DA’s office. 



A felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle charge against Mary Ann Carter was dismissed without prejudice on a motion by the DA’s office. 



Joel Michael Simonson pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence first offense. The court ordered 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed for one year on the condition he serves two days, with credit given for two days time served. 

A $400 fine + $125 administrative assessment + $60 forensic fee + $100 special DUI fee was ordered and a victim impact panel and DUI school ordered to be completed + use of a breath interlock device for 185 days.
