The PCHS girls basketball team played four games in three days this past weekend, a victory in itself.
They competed in the Whittell tournament in Zephyr Cove.
The Mustangs lost to North Tahoe by one point (35-34). They also lost to Owyhee (45-37).
However, they beat Lone Pine (34-28) and Whittell (52-13). According to coach Lee Houston all of the games were competitive.
“We had a lot of fun as we worked on the things we needed to work on, like making good decisions with the basketball in our hands,” he added. The Mustangs competed with only six girls, an obstacle when it comes to playing their style of hoop.
“Christmas break will allow us to work on the little things that will make us a better team,” he concluded.
After break, the girls travel to Reno to play Coral Academy (Dec. 27).
They’ll host Silver Stage on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 2 p.m.
The Mustangs thrive on cheers from their home crowd, play an exciting game and hope for a big turnout.
