Joaquin Moreno Robles passed away on November 16, 2021, in Reno, NV at the age of 81.
He was born on December 26, 1939, in Blythe, California to Joaquin and Laurencia Robles.
He started mining at a young age. He was employed with Kaiser Steel, Echo Bay Mines and Newmont.
He retired from Newmont at the age of 78.
Joaquin was anASA softball umpire for many years. He was a faithful San Francisco 49ers fan, win or lose.
He enjoyed watching baseball especially the Reno Aces and following his favorite team, the Boston Red Sox.
He also loved playing the Buffalo Machines at the casinos.
He is survived by his children, Rene (Jake) Navar of Battle Mountain, NV, Monica (Randy) Edens of Winnemucca, NV, Kassandra (Trinidad) Robles of Battle Mountain, NV, Jaclyn (Anthony) Hansen of Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Valerie (Erich) Robles of Grants Pass, Oregon. His grandchildren, Rebecca, Monique, Christina, Mckenna, Seleste, Joaquin, Isabelle, Jaylynn, Adriana, Justyne and Allia, his great-grandchildren, Alexa, Antonio, Oliv, Jack III, Lily, Shaylee, and Zayvian.
He is also survived by his brother, Andy (Karen) Robles of Eugene, OR and his sisters, Anita Melgarjo and Jenny Hamilton both of Blythe, California.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Robles, his parents, Joaquin and Laurencia Robles, his sister, Ruth Mees and one grandchild, Kenneth “Papason” Edens.
A viewing will be held on December 8, 2021, at 1:00 pm with Mass to follow at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Battle Mountain, NV.
