Rick B. Richardson, beloved Husband, Brother, Uncle, Cousin and Friend passed from this life on August 15, 2021, at his home in Battle Mountain, NV at the age of 56.
Born in Rexburg April 12, 1965, Rick grew up in the small community of Dubois, Idaho where he attended Clark County High School, graduating in 1983. Rick was active in Football, Basketball, and was known by family and friends to be a great Bareback rider in local Rodeos. Rick had many special memories of camping, picnics and get-togethers with family and friends and the years growing up in Dubois.
As an adult, Rick was proud of his work for Charles Vadnais building fence throughout Idaho and working for the US Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. Rick married his wife, Shawna in 1994. The two lived in Idaho and Oregon before moving to Battle Mountain, Nevada in 1997. The two had no children but enjoyed horses and their other critters at their 5-acre home in Battle Mountain. Rick and Shawna enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, canning vegetables and jams, and smoking meat as well as hanging out at their quiet home with friends and family.
Over his life, Rick enjoyed wood working, camping, and family get togethers. Rick especially enjoyed assisting Shawna with the Wild Horse and Burro Program caring for orphan foals or assisting on wild horse gathers. Though Rick and Shawna had no children, Rick enjoyed playing with his young Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, and Great-Nephews and would often light up from the time spent together.
Though Rick was typically quiet and reserved, Rick opened up to trusted family and friends letting his true self shine. Those that truly knew him got to see his witty sense of humor, and his thoughtful, kind and caring nature. He was an amazing person; loyal friend and our lives are better because of him.
Rick will be deeply missed by his wife of 27 years Shawna Richardson of Battle Mountain, Nevada, as well as his surviving Brothers: Casey (Rigby, ID), Rob (Battle Mountain, NV), Kelly (Archer, ID) and Dave/wife Tina (Menan, ID). Additionally, his Brother-in-law, Steve/wife Tierra of Battle Mountain, NV. Rick also has twelve Nieces and Nephews and 26 Great Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents Buster and Shirley Richardson, and Stepdad Stanley Roden.
Rick left this world too early, having taken his own life after enduring near lifelong anxiety and depression. Rick was respected, loved, and will be missed by many throughout western Oregon, Idaho, and Nevada.
