It’s a big weekend for northern Nevada’s high school soccer world.
The PCHS players are hosting a multi-team tournament Thursday through Saturday.
It will include boys and girls from Lowry JV, Yerington, West Wendover, North Tahoe, White Pine and Battle Mountain.
On Thursday at 7:15 p.m the Mustangs play Fernley under the lights. Friday kicks off at 10:15 and runs until 8 p.m. The Lowry JV boys play Yerington at 11:30.
Saturday’s matches run from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. The schedule is subject to sudden change.
Matt and Cassie Fuller coach Lovelock. Eva Matuszyk will help as her schedule permits. PCHS soccer alum McKenna Hertz (Class of 2019) also plans to pitch in when able.
She played four years of Pershing soccer as a fullback and halfback.
After hosting the Lovelock tournament, Pershing plays a string of away games against White Pine (Sept. 10), West Wendover (Sept. 11) and North Tahoe (Sept 17). They’ll play at home again on Saturday, Sept. 18 when they host the Incline Highlanders at 10 a.m.
