The Lowry High School varsity volleyball team opened its 2021 season on a strong note at the Yerington Invitational this past weekend in Yerington. The Lady Bucks opened with pool play last Friday and moved on to bracket play on Saturday. Lowry picked up three wins over the weekend and met up with Smith Valley in the semifinals on Saturday. The Bulldogs knocked off the Lady Bucks 25-19, 21-25 and 15-9 in the semifinals. Lowry makes its home debut on Wednesday, Sept. 1 against Truckee at 6 p.m. The freshman and JV teams, who played in Truckee last Saturday, play Truckee at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
