Friends with Benefits out of the Reno and Carson City area won the 2021 Winners Inn Shootout bowling tournament held Aug. 7-8 at Spare Time Bowl in Winnemucca.
The Winners Inn provided $3,800 in prize money, as nearly 110 bowlers participated, with 96 of them from out of town. Over $13,000 in prize money was awarded as 36 teams competed.
Friends with Benefits won the top prize of $3,600 and team members include Will Wilkerson, Michael Blair Jr. and Jesse Fromeyer.
Bowl DMC (Chris Ramos, DeeDee Christ, Mike Boecher) finished second and earned $2,700.
12 Money Elephants (James Pinkney, Roger Hare, Cesar Rojas) placed third and won $1,950. We Got The Vid (Scott Shimming, Nick Wheeler, Gary Vidmar) were fourth and won $1,500.
CJE (Eugene Aflague, Jamal Tate, Casey Knutson) placed fifth and Salty Banana Hammock (Danny Pankowski, Jeff Cecil, Josh Groves) were sixth.
We Ustacould (Elliot Morris, John Landers, Bill Cranston) placed seventh and Sandy’s Boys (Gary Hudgins, Donovan Moreno, Craig McLinden) finished in eighth.
The high team game went to Poker 411 (Russel Vershum, Joseph Dousharm, Jason Dousharm) with a 713 series. Matt Haylett and Jason Dousharm had the high individual game, with a 269.
The high average out of the money went to Bruce Haylett at 224.42. Charlie Washburn had the high individual points won/out of the money with 20.
Friends with Benefits also won the Saturday, Aug. 7, results, while We Got the Vid and Sprinkles are for Winners, were second and third, respectively.
