World Horseshoe Pitching Championships wrap up in Winnemucca

The two-week stay for the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association and the World Horseshoe Pitching Championships concluded this past Saturday at the Winnemucca Event Center. Nearly 750 competitors from around the nation took part in the two week event that featured a men’s, women’s, senior and cadet divisions. Alan Francis from Defiance, Ohio was crowned the 2021 men’s world champion. Joan Elmore of Mt. Juliet, Tenn. was crowned the 2021 women’s world champion. Ronald LeGrand from Dexter, Missouri was crowned the 2021 Elder men’s world champion. Jacob Fimbers was the men’s senior champion and Sheila Shepard was the women’s senior champion.
