Pansy Northrup passed away on July 23, 2021. She was born on December 20, 1946, in McDermitt, NV to Ivan and Ruth Northrup.
She was born and raised in McDermitt, NV and attended all her schooling there.
During high school, Pansy played basketball and volleyball, and was on the drill team, the dance team and was a cheerleader.
She graduated with the class of 1964 from McDermitt Combined Schools.
Pansy worked as the Community Health Representative, she was a tribal B.I.A. member and tribal secretary for many years. She moved to Winnemucca in the late 1970’s with her son, Phelan.
In Winnemucca, she worked at various hotels as a housekeeper and volunteered for several years at the Poke and Peek. She attended the Assembly of God and was president of the youth group.
Pansy loved her family and watching them play sports and was active with her nieces and nephews.
She also loved watching sports, sitting and talking about sports, her favorite team was the Lakers. She above all loved her grandkids – they were her greatest pride and joy.
She is survived by her son, Phelan (Marjorie) Northrup of Carson City. Her grandchildren, Aubrey (Nick) Tedesco of Carson City, Jessalyn Northrup of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Brayden Northrup of Carson City. Her siblings, Carnegie Northrup of Warm Springs, Oregon, Clifford Northrup of Winnemucca, and Stella Northrup of Winnemucca. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Ruth Northrup. Brothers, Lamar Northrup, and Rodger Northrup. Sisters, Rita Stewart, Eloise Beecher, Dora Northrup, and Rhoda Ceballos.
Services for Pansy Northrup were held on Saturday, July 31, 2021. 12:00 pm Viewing at Sonoma Funeral Home, 47 W. First St, Winnemucca, NV 89445. Funeral Service and Burial at the Winnemucca Cemetery.
