Kenneth D. Wilcox, 75, a longtime resident of Battle Mountain NV, passed away peacefully early in the morning on April 3, 2021 in Reno NV. He was born to: Dean Wanlass and Lula Blunck Wilcox on July 13, 1945 in Lehi UT. He was the last of 3 children born to Dean and Lula having both an older sister LuDean and older brother Robert. Kenneth who was known to many as Ken or Kenny moved to Battle Mountain After serving in the National Guard in Nov. 1966 where his parents at the time managed the Big Chief Motel. He was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served in various callings. Ken worked for over 27 years for Duval and then Battle Mountain Gold in their maintenance and carpentry shop as a lead carpenter. He also ran a janitorial business with his wife Ada. He was a school bus driver and later he drove delivery truck for Suburban Propane. He worked as a door greeter for Walmart, and for a short time transported camp trailers across country until he retired. While in retirement he continued to serve his family by caring for is disabled wife and children Ken was a man of few words (until you got to know him) that went about quietly serving others in whatever way he could. If he was asked to help out someone in need he was there.
He is proceeded in death by his parents: Dean Wanlass Wilcox, Lula Blunck Wilcox Widdison, Sister: LuDean Wilcox Harris, Brother-in-Law: Melvin Harris, Wife: Ada Joy Johnson Burton Wilcox, Daughter: Lila Ann Wilcox, and Step Son-In-Law: Phillip Charles Brown
He is survived by His Children: Belinda Joy Wilcox, and Kenneth Warren Dean Wilcox. Step Children: Annette Marie Burton Brown, and Jack Andrew Burton Jr. (Kelly) and 12 Step Grandchildren 7 Step Great Grandchildren Brother: Robert E. Wilcox (Louise) and numerous Nieces and Nephews
Under the direction of the Burns Funeral Home services will be held on Saturday April 17, 2021 there will be a family viewing at 9:30 a.m., and regular services at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel located at 765 Humboldt Street, Battle Mountain, NV 89820 with internment at the Battle Mountain Cemetery to follow.
