Six suspects were recently arrested following a late-night armed robbery where two victims were held at gunpoint and stripped of wallets, cash and other possessions in a parking lot in Winnemucca.
The incident occurred Friday, Sept. 4, at approximately 1:16 a.m. in a parking lot in the area of Great Basin Avenue and Palisade Drive, by Lowry High School.
Winnemucca Police Department Captain Mike Rangel said that the six suspects rushed the vehicle, pointing guns at the victims and holding them in the vehicle while they took an undisclosed amount of money, wallet and other items from the vehicle.
Once the suspects had what they wanted, they took off running, leaving the victims in the vehicle unharmed.
Once dispatched, Rangel said that WPD Sergeant Sergio Cabada found the six suspects running through a neighborhood near the incident right away and that the subjects were taken into custody without incident.
Rangel said that most of the property of the victims was recovered following the arrest.
Ramiro Garcia, age 18, was arrested on one count of robbery with a deadly weapon and one count of carrying a concealed weapon with a total $102,500 bail.
Zachary Allen Lacey, age 18, was arrested on one count of conspiracy to commit robbery and one count of possession of marijuana with a total $21,140 bail.
Jordan Mayden, age 19, was arrested on one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a $20,000 bail.
Three other juvenile males were arrested; a 17-year-old was charged with one count robbery with a deadly weapon, one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count curfew violation.
A 16-year-old was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery and one count curfew violation. Another 17-year-old male was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery and one count curfew violation.
Both the victims and suspects are local to the Winnemucca area, although it is unclear whether the suspects knew the victims prior to the incident or why the victims were in the parking lot.
