We would like to note the recent passing of Mr. Dennis Smart of the Fort McDermitt Paiute Shoshoni Reservation. For most of his life Dennis taught us of his culture in the form of dress, dancing, and stories of his native upbringing. He, and others, gave innumerable performances to the school children of this county and to special events. We will miss his enthusiasm about his culture and we will miss him.
