Obituary: Electra Sue Farnham

Electra Sue Farnham was born in Woodland, California on December 3, 1938.

She died in Roseburg, Oregon on August 7, 2020 at the age of 81. 

She was one of

three children and preceded in death by her brother, Ellis Junior.

She is survived by her

sister Nell Farnham, her niece Tracy Cuilty and her nephew Evan Locke, and their

children.

The Farnham family moved from Woodland California to Denio, Nevada in

1946 where they were involved in mining and ranching. While in Denio, Sue and her

sister attended a one-room grade school in Denio. 

The Farnham family moved to

Lovelock, Nevada in 1953 where Sue attended Pershing County Grade School and

Pershing County High School. 

She graduated from Pershing County High School in

1957. 

Sue created the high school annual’s artwork. She attended the University of

Nevada School of Nursing in Reno. 

Sue worked as an RN at Washoe Medical

Hospital until she retired.

She is best remembered as a woman that enjoyed barrel

racing, horseback riding, raising livestock, gardening, and painting. 

Sue developed her

painting style from William Moore- a well-known artist in Northern Nevada. 

Sue lived in Reno and Fernley but after her retirement she moved to Midvale, Idaho. 

She spent the

last few years of her life with her sister Nell Farnham and John Locke in Roseburg, Oregon.
