Obituary: Manuel “Ian” Carvajal

On October 20, 2020, Manuel “Ian” Carvajal, 35 went home to meet his Heavenly father and was welcomed home by his loving mother, Irma Smartt Carvajal and two brothers, Brian and Alex Sanchez.

Ian was born on April 20, 1985 in Winnemucca, Nevada to Irma and Manuel Carvajal. He attended school in Winnemucca, NV and was a graduate of Albert Lowry High School. Afterwards, attended Great

Basin College to study courses of business management and marketing.

He held numerous jobs during his lifetime in which he met a lot of his friends, Baskin Robbins, Wells Fargo, State Farm and Winnemucca Inn. 

Moved to Pyramid Lake, NV in 2018, worked at Tesla and other warehouse positions before returning back home to Winnemucca, at the beginning of 2020.

Ian loved hanging out with his family/friends, he was so outgoing, the life of the party, always smiling and loved to dance.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Duane Sanders of NV. His brothers, Carlos Sanchez of California, Jesse Sanchez of Nevada, Roy Sanchez of Nevada and Sherry(Santos) Vasquez of Texas.

 He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and adored, Alexandria, Dylan and Ryder Sanchez (Carlos), Lauryn, Bryan and Kaycee Sanchez (Jesse), Alex Sanchez (Brian), and Liliana, Briana, and Jairo Vasquez (Sherry).

Celebration of Life is planned at 1pm on Saturday, November 21,

2020 at the Boys & Girls Club in Winnemucca, Nevada and burial of ashes will follow at the Winnemucca Cemetery.
