Thomas Wade George, son of Thomas H. and Jessie Ilene George passed away on October 16, 2020. Wade was born on October 1st, 1962 in Fort Collins, Colorado.
After graduating from Lowry High he studied at the University of Nevada, Reno and moved onto Colorado State University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Education. After graduating he returned to Nevada where he taught school in Lovelock for five years. In July, 1983 he married Loretta Elmshaeuser and together they raised four children; Chad, Tiffany, Felicia and Orin.
He and his family moved to Curtis Nebraska where he taught school for three years before returning to Winnemucca, Nevada where he began a career with Newmont Gold.
Beginning as a preventative maintenance mechanic, Wade later attained his EMT certification and advanced to the head of the mine safety program.
Eventually moving to the Elko, Nevada area where he worked for a fencing company and later began his own venture working as a handyman.
He enjoyed helping others remodeling and adding on to their homes. Wade was with friends when he suffered a fatal heart attack.
Aside from his children he will be missed by his parents, his two sisters, two brothers and one grandson, as well as a host of friends.
A memorial service is being scheduled for a later date. An account has been set up in Wade’s honor to benefit the Nevada State FFA Foundation.
