Jessica Money, age 21, was ordered to complete five years of probation and given a felony conviction recently after failing to complete the 18-month Humboldt County Adult Drug Court program.
Money had been in the drug court program for nearly three years due to continued setbacks, and told the court that she was discharged from the program because her life was crazy and affected her participation in the program. She also admitted to violating two rules of her probation which include fees, which Sixth Judicial Court Judge William Rogers said were more than $1,000 behind.
Rogers told Money that she was on her way to prison and that if he had been her judge throughout her court history that she would already be in prison.
Humboldt County Alternate Public Defender Maureen McQuillan said that Money had not had a positive drug test since November 2018 and that her choice of relationships were negatively affecting her success.
Rogers discharged Money from the diversion program and adult drug court, leaving her with a felony charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
She was ordered to 12-36 months in prison and the prison sentence was suspended and she was placed on probation for five years.
