Humboldt County Rodeo Club competes in Fernley

The Humboldt County Rodeo Club was in Fernley on March 14-15 for its next round on the schedule.

Cade Bell finished second in each performance of the tie-down roping, which was good enough to give him the average title. He had a time of 16.620 seconds in the first go-around and 15.690 in the second for a total of 32.310. He won the average by three seconds.

Bell and his team roping partner Jayce Blake were fourth in the average in team roping. They won the first go-around of the performance with a time of 8.08. They stopped the clock at 19.110 in the second go-around.

Bell also led the way in the steer wrestling, winning the second go-around with a time of 5.41. No competitor had a time in the first go-around. In addition, Bell was first in saddle bronc, with a ride of 71 points in the second go-around. The only other rider to make the full eight seconds was Elko’s Hank Whitaker, who scored 64 points.

Bell was second in boys cutting, with scores of 72 and 70 to place as the runner-up in each go-around.

Isaac Mori was third in the average in boys cutting with scored of 71 and 69.5. Mori was fifth in the average in reined cow horse with scores of 131 and 142.5.

On the girls side, Lexi Garijo was 11th in the barrel racing average with times of 25.140 and 18.589.

Her second go-around was good enough to place fifth. Garijo was 21st in the breakaway average with a time of 13.890. She had no time in the second go-around. Garijo placed 10th in the pole bending average with times of 23.914 and 22.937. 

Frankie Baumeister was 17th in the breakaway roping average with no time in the first go-around and she was eighth in the second go-around at 4.74. Alyssa Nimmick was 28th in the barrel racing average with times of 20.317 and 19.498.

On the junior high side, Billy DeLong won the saddle bronc steer average, was second in boys goat tying and chute dogging, third in chute dogging, fourth in bareback steer riding  and seventh in ribbon roping.

Emma Garijo was second in breakaway roping, including winning the first go-around with a time of 3.70. She placed 11th in pole bending, 12th in barrel racing, 

Garijo and DeLong were fourth in team roping.

Matti DeLong was sixth in pole bending, seventh in goat tying, eighth in ribbon roping, ninth in breakaway roping and 18th in barrel racing, 

Cooper Hill placed eighth in boys breakaway, 10th in chute dogging, 12th in ribbon roping and 13th in boys goat tying.
