Lowry High School senior Sierra Maestrejuan was named to the Northern 3A all-league, second team, which is chosen by the 10 coaches in the Northern 3A.
Maestrejuan led the Lady Bucks in scoring with 10 points a game, to go with 5.0 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 2.3 assists a game.
Lowry sophomores Jovi Kuskie, Emily Backus and Hannah Whitted were named to the honorable mention team.
Kuskie averaged 8.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 1.8 assists a game. Backus also averaged 8.5 points a game, to go with 2.6 steals, 1.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists a game.
Whitted scored 7.0 points a game, along with 5.9 rebounds and 3.0 steals.
Lowry finished third in the Northern 3A at 13-5 and was 16-11 overall.
The Lady Bucks lost to Truckee in the 3A regional semifinals.
Truckee went on to win its first state championship.
Fernley’s Tom Kingston was named the Coach of the Year, as the Vaqueros went undefeated in league play at 18-0.
Spring Creek junior Kylee Dimick was named the Most Valuable Player.
The all-league, first team included Fernley’s Willow Jacobsen, Celeste Condie, Jaiden Sullivan and Karli Burns, Elko’s Katie Ross and Truckee’s Annika Thayer.
The second team included Elko’s Peyton Jacaway, Spring Creek’s Payge Walz, Truckee’s Elena Friedman and Emma Cocley and Churchill County’s Mackenzie Morretto.
Dimick, Jacobsen and Thayer were named to the 3A all-state, first team and Condie, Ross, Sullivan and Burns were selected for the second team.
The honorable mention team was rounded out by Dayton’s Hannah Coltrin and Miley Connor, Truckee’s Lauren Tanner and Ryan Flynn, South Tahoe’s Lexi Haven and Giovana DeLoia, Fernley’s Katelyn Bunyard and Alizah Lara, North Valleys’ Georgia Wallund-Reed and Ily Ruiz, Sparks’ Anahi Flores and Evelyn Reyes, Churchill County’s Madison Whitaker and Aisha Sharon and Elko’s Izzy Eklund.
