Lowry boys golf teams wins Spring Creek icebreaker

Before the announcement by the NIAA to suspend all high school spring sports and activities, the Lowry High School boys golf team was in Spring Creek for a preseason icebreaker tournament.

Lowry shot a score of 351 to win the team title, while Elko was second at 367 and Spring Creek was third with a score of 410.

Lowry senior Kobe Stoker had the low-round of the day at 80, while teammates Max Mavity and Caden Rorex joined him in the 80s with rounds of 88 and 89, respectively.

Bodi Miller carded a 94, Cal Peters shot 99 and Hunter Smith finished with a 120.

The season was scheduled to start Monday and Tuesday in Dayton and Fernley, respectively.

However, those dates were already postponed to weather.

The remainder of the season is now up in the air after the NIAA announced on Friday that all sports are suspended indefinitely.
