Feb. 20
Gary Dean Wangen Jr. pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft. The court ordered $400 restitution to be paid to the Humboldt County Treasurer and a jail sentence of 160 days with credit for 55 days given for time served.
Feb. 24
Fawn Arlene Swanbeck pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence first offense.
The court ordered 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for a period of one year on the condition she serves two days, with credit given for 12 hours time served and the remaining 36 hours converted to 72 hours house arrest. The court ordered a $400 fine + $125 administrative assessment + $60 forensic fee.
A victim impact panel and DUI school were ordered to be completed and a breath interlock device ordered for 185 days.
A misdemeanor charge of headlamps required was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations.
Feb. 25
Ashly Ann Ward was found guilty of misdemeanor dog at large first offense at a bench trial.
The court found Ward not guilty of misdemeanor dangerous or vicious dog. The court ordered a $10 fine + $50 administrative assessment on count one.
Jenica Jordan Jones was found guilty of misdemeanor count one: operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license is canceled/suspended/revoked, count two: operating an unregistered motor vehicle and count three: speed 11-20 over at a bench trial.
The court ordered a $250 fine + $105 administrative assessment on count one, a $250 fine + $105 administrative assessment on count two and $250 fine + $105 administrative assessment on count three.
Curtis James Gorsuch pleaded guilty to misdemeanor failure to use due care, amended from an original charge of driving under the influence second offense.
The court ordered a $500 fine + $140 administrative assessment. A misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle while license is cancelled/suspended/revoked was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations.
Feb. 26
April Marie Geurin pleaded no contest to misdemeanor petit larceny. The court ordered a $1,000 fine + $140 administrative assessment with credit for five days jail time served and the remaining $390 suspended on the condition he has no like violations for a period of two years.
Kyle Michael Holt pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence first offense. The court ordered 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for a period of one year on the condition he serves two days with credit given for two days time served.
The court ordered a $400 fine + $125 administrative assessment + $60 forensic fee with fines and fees converted to four days jail and credit for time served.
A victim impact panel and DUI school were ordered to be completed and a breath interlock device ordered to be installed for 185 days. A misdemeanor charge of lighted lamps required was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations.
Feb. 27
Stephen Allen Frederick pleaded no contest to misdemeanor count one: failure to report accident, count two: fail to obey traffic control device, count three: unregistered vehicle, count four: no proof of insurance and count five: driving on right side required.
The court ordered a $1,000 fine + $140 administrative assessment (AA) on count one, a $100 fine + $95 AA on count two, a $100 fine + $95 AA on count three, a $600 fine + $140 AA on count four and a $100 fine + $95 AA on count five.
Frederick was ordered to pay $6,166.19 restitution to the Humboldt County Treasurer’s Office.
A felony charge of burglary against Gary Dean Wangen Jr. was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations.
Shane Patrick Garrity pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of a drug which may not be introduced into interstate commerce, amended from an original felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
The court ordered 160 days in jail with 23 days credit for time served.
Ryan Anthony Perez pleaded guilty to misdemeanor count one: driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked and count two: current registration required.
On count one the court ordered a $500 fine + $140 administrative assessment and a $50 fine + $65 administrative assessment on count two with credit for two days time served. The court ordered 30 days jail time converted to 60 days house arrest.
A misdemeanor charge of driving while license is canceled/suspended/revoked against Ryan Anthony Perez was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office in open court as there was not proper notice made in the case.
