Humboldt County Rodeo Club back in action in Pahrump

After taking the winter months off, the Humboldt County Rodeo Club returned to action in Pahrump on Feb. 22-23.

Cade Bell led both rounds of the saddle bronc, winning the first go-around with 67 points and the second with a score of 70. 

The Lowry senior was the only rider to ride his bronc both days.

Bell also claimed the top spot in the tie-down roping on both days. He had a time of 13.210 in the first go-around and 11.360 in the second. Bell placed third in cutting with scores of 61 and 66, respectively. 

He was fourth in the steer wrestling and 11th in team roping with partner Jayce Blake. The duo had a time of 20.160 seconds in the first go-around, which was good enough for ninth place.

Bell is currently leading the boys all-around standings with 771 points. Fernley’s Daunte Ceresola is a distant second at 481.50.

Lexi Garijo placed 12th in the breakaway roping with an average time of 17.870, including a run of 4.11 in the second go-around, which put her in ninth place in the go-around. 

Garijo was 15th in the barrel racing average at 38.691, with runs of 19.574 and 19.117. In addition, Garijo was 19th in the pole bending average. Garijo is 14th in the all-around standings.

Frankie Baumeister was 15th in the breakaway roping average, which included a run of 4.76 seconds in the first go-around. That time was good enough for eight in the performance.

Sierra Fears was 21st in the barrel racing average at 39.582. She had runs of 19.951 and 1.621.

Saydee Pruett was third in the rifle shoot with a score of 125.

In the junior high division, Emma Garijo was second in the breakaway roping average at 9.81 seconds, sixth in the pole bending average and eighth in the barrel racing average.

Cooper Hill was seventh in the boys goat tying average, 10th in the boys breakaway roping and 10th in chute dogging. Hill was second in the rifle shoot with 210 points.  

The Humboldt County Rodeo Club is back in action on March 13-15 in Fernley.  

Winnemucca and the Humboldt County Rodeo Club will holds its rodeo May 1-3 at the Winnemucca Events Complex.

The Nevada State High Finals Rodeo will be May 22-26 in Las Vegas.

The National Junior High School Finals Rodeo is set for June 21-27 in Des Moines, Iowa,

Winnemucca will host the annual Silver State International Rodeo from June 28-July 6. 

The National High School Finals Rodeo will be in Lincoln. Neb., from July 19-25.
