Depending on how Mother Nature is feeling, the Lowry High School baseball, softball and track and field teams are in action this week.
The Lowry varsity softball team will make its way over the Sierra Nevada Mountains to play in the Franklin Preseason Tournament in Sacramento, Calif.
Lowry opens with Laguna, Calif., on Thursday at 6:45 p.m. and will play twice on Friday against River City, Calif., at 10:45 a.m. and Oakmont, Calif., at 12:30 p.m..
Lowry’s opponent on Saturday will be determined by results in pool play.
The Lowry JV softball team will be in Yerington on Friday and Saturday.
The Buckaroo softball teams make their home debut the following week.
The JV host Spring Creek on March 13 and the varsity takes on the Spartans on Saturday, March 14, in a doubleheader at 11 a.m.
The Lowry varsity baseball team will be playing in a three-day tournament, which will see them play four games in three cities in three days.
Lowry will be in Fallon on Thursday to take on Churchill County in a non-conference game at 3:30 p.m.
The Buckaroos move over to Sparks and Reed High School on Friday to play Spanish Springs at 11 a.m. and Reed at 2 p.m.
Lowry closes out the weekend on Saturday in Carson City against Carson at 11 a.m.
The Lowry JV baseball team will be in Yerington on Friday and Saturday.

The Lowry swim team opens its season on Thursday, March 12, at 1 p.m. against Incline at the Carson Aquatic Center.
The Lowry boys golf team travels to Spring Creek on Thursday, March 12, for a preseason tournament and begins the year for real on March 16 in Dayton and March 17 in Fernley.
The baseball and softball regional tournaments are set for May 7-9 at South Tahoe High School and the state tournament will be May 14-16 in Northern Nevada.
The track and field regional championships will take place at North Valleys High School on May 8-9 and the state championships will be May 15-16 at Reed High School in Sparks.
The Northern 3A doesn’t have a regional tournament for boys golf and the state tournament is set for May 11-12 in Boulder City.
The Northern 3A Regional Swimming Championships will be May 8-9 in Carson City and the NIAA State Championships will be May 16 in Las Vegas.
