Lee Alden Talcott passed away on June 12, 2020 in Fernley, NV. A native of Lovelock, NV, he was born July 20, 1931.
Talcott graduated from Pershing County High School, Lovelock in 1951, and was in the Air Force 1951-1955.
He was a career dragline operator, a workaholic, working on such projects as the Oroville Dam and many Interstates throughout Nevada and California, he dug the “pond” at the former MGM Grand-Reno and the marina at Jack London Square and near Walley’s Hot Springs in Gardnerville, Nevada and last worked in Orland, Ca. before finally retiring in 2015.
Known to his friends as the “traveler”, he was a minimalist and a very proud native Nevadan. He was happiest driving the long open roads of the Nevada desert or riding a quad through its mountains or watching an air show.
Surviving are his sons Rodney Talcott, of Las Cruces, NM, Donald Talcott, of Sun Valley, NV, and daughter Sheryl (Eddie) Sanchez, of Paradise, Ca. and granddaughter Teyna Talcott, sister-in-law Cordean Talcott, niece Becky Giacomazzi, and nephew James Talcott, and extended family in the Lovelock, Reno and Truckee, CA areas.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, and his parents.
Burial is scheduled July 9th, at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, NV.
