Obituary: Lloyd M. Evans, Jr

Lloyd M. Evans, Jr died on June 7, 2020 at home with his family. He fought a brief but strong battle against cancer.

Lloyd was born January 3, 1960 in Greeley, Colorado to Lloyd and Juanamae Evans.

They spent his early childhood years in Colorado before moving to the Sacramento, California area.

After high school, he went to work as an Underground Miner. Lloyd worked for numerous mining companies and contractors during his 40-year career.

In 1992, he met and married his wife, Cheryl and together they had 2 beautiful daughters. Lloyd’s greatest treasure in life was “his girls”.

He was happiest when spending time with them whether they were out 4x4ing, shooting or just hanging out watching TV and taking “Lloyd naps”.

He was proceeded in death by brothers, Ed, Rick, and John Hurst.

He is survived by wife, Cheryl, daughters, Samantha and Paige, his mother, Joan Jennings, sister, Vicki Hanley, brothers: Gary and Larry (Rae Dean) Baysinger, brother-in-law, Craig (Kathy) Peterson, sister-in-law, Cindy (Neil) McIntosh and numerous nieces and nephews.

We cannot thank Katie, Kammy and the team from Genesis Home Health Care enough for all their help in getting him set up at home so he could pass peacefully with his family and friends around him.

We will miss all his quirky sayings, his quick wit and of course his QUACK!!!!

“Let the pigeons loose” Lloyd and rest in peace.

There will be a celebration of life planned for a later date.
