June 24
Skylr James Bleck pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving without a valid license, amended from an original misdemeanor charge of operating a motor vehicle while license is canceled/suspended/revoked. The court ordered a $25 fine + $50 administrative assessment (AA). A misdemeanor charge of operating an unregistered motor vehicle was dismissed by the DA’s office after proof of insurance was provided to the court.
July 1
Shawn Dale Ruby pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drawing a deadly weapon in a threatening manner. The court ordered a $1,000 fine + $140 AA with credit for six days jail time served, with the balance suspended for a year on the condition that no further violations of the law other than minor traffic violations occur.
July 21
April Marie Geurin pleaded guilty to misdemeanor petit larceny. The court ordered a $1,000 fine + $140 administrative assessment with $500 of the fines suspended for one year on the condition that there be no like violations of the law by the defendant.
A misdemeanor charge of battery against Edith Castaneda was dismissed in open court by a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to the terms of a deferred prosecution agreement.
Kevin Lacey pleaded guilty to misdemeanor failure to stop or yield when entering a marked intersection. The court ordered a $100 fine + $95 AA.
In another case, Kevin William Lacey Jr. pleaded guilty to misdemeanor count one: hit and run property damage and count two: failure to immediately report a traffic accident. On count one the court ordered a $1,000 fine + $140 AA. On count two the court ordered a $500 fine + $140 AA. The court ordered $500 in restitution to be paid to the Humboldt County Treasurer.
July 22
Dylan Ongert pleaded guilty to misdemeanor count one: battery and count two: breach of peace. On count one the court ordered a $1,000 fine + $140 AA. On count two the court ordered a $250 fine + $105 AA.
In another case, Dylan Ongert pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery. The court ordered a $1,000 fine + $140 AA with the fines and fees suspended on the condition that there are no like violations of the law.
July 24
Brian Scott Hardy pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence first offense. The court ordered 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed for one year on the condition he serves two days with 16 hours credit for time served and the remaining 32 hours converted to 64 hours of house arrest. The court ordered a $400 fine + $125 AA + $60 forensic fee. DUI school and a victim impact panel were ordered, and a vehicle breath interlock device for 185 days. A misdemeanor charge of fail to drive within marked lanes was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations.
A misdemeanor charge of basic speed 11-20 over the limit against Brianna Armilia White was amended to a charge of misdemeanor basic speed 1-10 over the limit by the Humboldt County District Attorney.
A misdemeanor charge of basic speed 1-20 over the limit against Robert Boyd Johnston was amended to reflect a charge of rural speed by the Humboldt County District Attorney.
