Herbert Chester Smith, 76

July 30, 1943- July 20, 2020

Herbert Chester Smith passed away at his home in Sheridan, MT on July 20, 2020. 

Herb was born on July 30, 1943 in Smith Valley, NV to Duane and Gloria Smith. 

He was raised in Pleasant Valley, NV where he worked on the family farm with his father. 

After graduating high school, he married Dinan Huggins and they had two daughters together, Robyn Seller (Smith) and Michelle Goodwin (Smith). 

Years later he married Mary Johnson and they had one daughter Traci Hanninen (Smith) and he became a stepfather to Mary’s three sons Mike, John, and Tim.

He moved to Winnemucca, NV in 1975 and purchased Roy’s Glass Service in 1984 in which he owned and operated. 

Herb was involved in many service clubs in Winnemucca and volunteered in the Rural Fire Department for many years. 

He later moved to Yerington, NV where he married his wife Kelly Roberts in 2009. He was an avid fisherman, car enthusiast, and enjoyed riding motorcycles. 

Herb knew everyone and always had a smile on his face. He loved spending time with his family and friends who all miss him dearly. 

He is preceeded in death by his parents Duane and Gloria Smith, his stepson John Johnson, numerous aunts, and uncles. 

He is survived by his wife Kelly Smith, his three daughters Robyn Seller (Smith) and husband Kevin, Michelle Goodwin (Smith), and Traci Hanninen (Smith) and husband Justin; sisters Irene (Patti) Beamer (Smith), and Karen Smith; nieces Tammy Gabica (Frank), Lynn Mandeville (Wylie), Kori Lituania (Sarah), Lauren Smith; grandchildren Makena Seller, Alex Seller, Shelby Goodwin, Mariah LeFever (Michael), Matthew Hanninen, Aiden Roberts, Sabrina Johnson, Marissa Gorski (Greg), Sarah Johnson, Katie Johnson, Zane Burgess, Gage Burgess, and 14 great grandchildren who he loved with all of his heart.
