Union Township Justice Court

Items in the Court Docket are compiled from public records contained in the Union Township Justice Court and the Sixth Judicial District Court. The Humboldt Sun reports all felony hearings, misdemeanor convictions and dismissals for which the court releases information. When requested by the individual, the Sun will post the person’s mug shot with their court disposition.

June 22

Jason Kafka pleaded guilty to misdemeanor driving under the influence first offense and misdemeanor duty to give information and render aid. 

On the DUI charge, the court ordered 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for a period of one year on the condition two days are served with credit given for 18 hours time served and the remaining 30 hours converted to community service.

A $400 fine + $125 AA + $60 forensic fee was ordered along with a victim impact panel and DUI school. A breath interlock device was ordered for 185 days. 

On the duty to give information and render aid charge the court ordered a $500 fine + $140 AA to run concurrently with the DUI penalty. 

A misdemeanor charge of duty to stop at scene or accident was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations. 



June 23

Kyle Cameron Kemp pleaded guilty to misdemeanor following too close. The court ordered a $50 fine + $65 AA. 



Gerald Edward Sam pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery. The court ordered a $1,000 fine + $140 AA with credit given for one day time served and $490 suspended on the condition that there are no like violations of the law. 



Kadie Marie Sharp pleaded guilty to misdemeanor failure to immediately report a traffic accident. 

The court ordered The court ordered a $500 fine + $140 AA. A misdemeanor hit and run property damage charge was dismissed on a previous date on a motion by the DA’s office. 



Michael Joseph Coulam was found to be not guilty to misdemeanor permit dog to chase/worry/injure or kill a domestic animal in a bench trial. The case was dismissed 



June 24

Gustavo Munoz pleaded guilty to driving under the influence first offense. The court ordered 30 days in jail with 28 days stayed for a period of one year on the condition he serves two days with one day credit for time served and a balance of one day in jail or 48 hours house arrest. 

The court ordered a $400 fine + $125 AA + $60 forensic fee and a victim impact panel and DUI school to be completed. A vehicle breath interlock device was ordered for 185 days with 85 days credit given. 

A misdemeanor traffic controlled by official traffic control devices charge was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations. 



Michael Gordon Stalder pleaded no contest to misdemeanor failure to immediately report a traffic accident. 

The court ordered a $500 fine + $140 AA + $500 restitution. A misdemeanor charge of hit and run property damage was dismissed on a motion by the DA’s office pursuant to plea negotiations.



June 25

Michael Christopher Ingram pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery. The DA reported to not have been able to get in contact with the victim in the matter. The court ordered a $1,000 fine + $140 AA with credit for 10 days time served given. 



June 30

Shiloah Caine Harding pleaded no contest to misdemeanor driving under the influence first offense. 

The court ordered 30 days jail with 28 days stayed for a period of one year, on the condition he serves two days with credit for one day time served given and the remaining 24 hours converted to 48 hours of house arrest. The court ordered a $400 fine + $125 AA + $60 forensic fee. The court ordered a victim impact panel and DUI school and a breath interlock device for 12 months.
