The Battle Mountain High School junior varsity boys basketball team picked up two Northern 2A victories over the weekend on its home floor.
Battle Mountain cruised to a 61-26 victory over Coral Academy on Friday afternoon. Evan Gonzalez paced the Longhorns with 19 points and three rebounds, while Aydan Samuelson posted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. DJ Wahl added nine points and three rebounds.
Battle Mountain continued its winning ways on Saturday afternoon, beating Yerington 63-44. Once again, Gonzalez led the way with 14 points. Nolan Chopp contributed 13 points eight rebounds, Julio Vazquez had 11 points and three rebounds and Samuelson finished with 10 points and six rebounds.
Battle Mountain hits the road to Lake Tahoe this weekend to play Incline on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and North Tahoe on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
The Longhorns will be at home on Tuesday to face Wells in a non-conference game at 4:30 p.m.
