Battle Mountain junior varsity boys win one of three games last week

The Battle Mountain High School junior varsity boys basketball team had a busy last week with three games on the schedule.

Battle Mountain traveled to Wells on Tuesday, Jan. 7, for a non-conference game and beat the Leopards 59-31.

Aydan Samuelson posted a double-double 15points and 10 rebounds. Nolan Chopp added 11 points and eight rebounds, Marcos Jiménez nine points and one rebound and JR Vásquez contributed eight points and three rebounds.

Battle Mountain was back on the road in Northern 2A action on Friday and lost 60-33 to West Wendover.

 Julio Vasquez had nine points  and two rebounds for the Longhorns. Samuelson finished with eight points and seven rebounds and Chopp had six points and 12 rebounds.

Battle Mountain made the trip to Ely on Saturday and suffered a 54-40 loss to White Pine. 

Evan Gonzalez had 12 points and four rebounds, Samuelson nine points and seven rebounds and Chopp had eight points and seven rebounds.

Battle Mountain hosts Coral Academy on Friday at 3 p.m. and Yerington on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
