The Battle Mountain High School junior varsity boys basketball team returned to the floor at the end of Christmas break with a 57-33 win over Silver Stage on Saturday afternoon in Battle Mountain.
Evan Gonzalez paced the Longhorns with 14 points and a rebound and Dennis Wahl joined him in double figures with 11 points and five rebounds. Terrance Fetterly added nine and five rebounds and Aydan Samuelson had eight points and 10 rebounds.
It was the only game of the weekend for the Longhorns. Their game scheduled for Friday against Pershing County was canceled. The Mustangs did not have enough players for the Friday contest.
Battle Mountain traveled to Wells on Tuesday for a non-conference game. Results were not available at press time.
Battle Mountain travels to West Wendover on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. tip and are in Ely on Saturday to play White Pine at 12:30 p.m.
The Longhorns are back home on Friday, Jan. 17, to play Coral Academy at 4:30 p.m. Yerington visits Battle Mountain on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 12:30 p.m.
