It is with our deepest love and respect to announce on Tuesday December 24th, 2019 Estella McEwen, loving sister, mother, grammy and friend died at the age of 87.
Estella was born on August 21, 1932 to Alfredo and Claudina Martinez in Ranchos de Taos, NM the land of the enchanted.
She married Joe Gonzalez and raised five children, Nancy, Sandra, Kathy, Joey and Lisa. She later married James McEwen and raised two grandchildren Monica and Melissa.
She was dedicated to all she did which reflected in her 20 plus years at Humboldt General Hospital.
Estella’s passion and joys revolved around family. She made sure all her family knew she loved them, taking many trips to visit sisters, brothers, parents, nieces, cousins, kids and grandkids.
She was loved by many which was evident with the amount of company and phone calls she received.
She loved to travel, explore and be with nature. She exemplified what it looks like to love unconditionally, be compassionate, be of service, be present, be courageous, strong and steadfast. She was humble and glowed with an infectious smile and class.
Estella was preceded in death by her Mother, Father, husband Jim, son Joey, daughter Nancy, two sisters and five brothers.
She is survived by her sisters Anita and Mary, brother Eliu, daughters Sandra Mendoza, Kathy Silva, Lisa Venegas, fourteen grandkids Ricky, Claudia, Valerie, Michael, Eric, Steven, Brenda, Breanna, Lorie, Monica, Melissa, Araceli, Arcelia, Josue, 17 great-grandkids, 1 great-great-grandkid and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 11, 2020 at the Boys and Girls Club in Winnemucca, NV at 1 PM.
