Members of the Battle Mountain Swim Team recently took park in the Douglas Dolphins swim meet.
Nevaeh Serna brought home a number of first-place medals, dominating the girls 8U division.
Serna earned top honors in the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1 minute, 35.43 seconds, an improvement of 8.70 seconds. Serna won the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 43.40, was first in the 25-yard backstroke (25.60) and she improved by 8.12 seconds to win the 50-yard butterfly in a time of 49.02.
Serna took home the top spot in the 25-yard freestyle in a time of 17.03, the 100-yard freestyle at 1:25.37, the 25-yard backstroke (19.58), the 25-yard butterfly (19.76), 50-yard breaststroke at 53.60, taking off more than four seconds and the 50-yard freestyle at 39.40.
In the girls 11-12-year old division, Shayne McMillin was 16th in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 42.17, taking off more than 14 seconds. She was 19th in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:17.83, which was a 20-second improvement, 16th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:25.70), 13th in the 50-yard breaststroke (45.00), 22nd in the 50-yard freestyle at 32.83 and 24th in the 100-yard individual medley at 1:26.37.
She took off more than 24 seconds in her 50-yard breaststroke time and nearly 11 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle.
McMillin placed 15th in the 50-yard backstroke in a time of 32.29, was 19th in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:40.63, 16th in the 50-yard butterfly (42.17) and was 19th in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:17.83.
Daxon Bakker earned fourth-place finishes in the 8U 50-yard backstroke in a time of 52.75 and the 100-yard freestyle (2:01.20). He finished sixth in the 35-yard backstroke at 25.83 and was seventh in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 58.56.
Saige Bakker notched three-runner-up finishes in the 8U division, including the 50-yard backstroke (1:12.66), 25-yard freestyle (39.47) and 25-yard backstroke (32.21).
