Obituary: Martha L Morse

Martha L Morse 53 passed away at her home in Ogallala Nebraska on November 20th.

She was born in Port Huron Michigan and raised in Lovelock Nevada.  “Marty”, as she was known by all, graduated from PCHS.

Marty was active in Choir, basketball and volleyball and received many awards, letters and pins.

After graduation Marty went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in the social services profession.

She soon went to work in Oregon as a counselor for “Looking Glass” working with troubled youth. Marty later moved to Ogallala Nebraska and began work on her Master’s Degree while employed by “Boys Town” as a youth counselor.

Marty had a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh and excelled at it.

She loved the teens and little ones. Her nieces and nephews always flocked to their “Aunt Marty”.

Never having married or children of her own, she gave her love to all those around her.

Marty had a passion for music, having been in the honor choir, she later taught herself to play the piano, and on days off from work she would sing in a band as often as she got the chance.

Marty had a big loving heart for the young and old.

Marty is survived by her Mother Sandra Marler of Idaho, two sisters; Crystal Brown of Reno and Sandra Stone of LaGrande Oregon; Brothers Shannon Marler of Idaho and Micheal of Texas; Aunt Nancy Howery of Nevada; Uncle Dean and Aunt Glenna Mcdonald of Lovelock and” too many others to count” as Marty would always say. Marty is preceded in death by her father Camille Morse and step father Leroy Marler, Grand Parents, aunts, uncles and many others.

Marty will be sorely missed by all those who knew her. Marty never asked for anything in return for all the joy, laughter and love that she so freely gave.

Marty once said that for those who loved her there would always be a piece of her with them and for this we are eternally grateful to have had her in our life.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
