Nye County, Nevada – Richard “Rick” Davidsaver, 73, passed away in his home Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
He is survived by his best friend of 49 years and devoted, loving caregiver, Jane Eliades Davidsaver, his twins Jason J. Davidsaver (his wife, Tiffany A. Davidsaver) of Lincoln City, Oregon and, Jill D. Openshaw (her husband, Scott W. Openshaw) of Bluemont, Virginia, his Midwestern Trilk cousins, extended Eliades family in Bakersfield, CA and many cherished friends near and far.
Rick was born in 1947 at Saint Mary’s hospital in Reno, NV and raised by his mother, Harriett L. Davidsaver. Rick grew up in the Catholic faith attending Our Lady of the Snows and graduating from Bishop Manogue Catholic High School in 1965, where he was a defensive leader on the champion football team.
He received a scholarship to play college-level football, and was also a proud Army veteran stationed in Vicenza, Italy.
He was a member of the Honor Society and ’73 graduate from the University of Nevada, Reno, where he met and married his wife, Jane.
His early career took them to duty stations throughout Nevada including Las Vegas, Ruby Valley and Carson City.
Together they raised their twins in Winnemucca, and the community of Humboldt County, Nevada where Rick was a respected Field Biologist and Game Warden of 30 plus years and Jane was an educator.
They chose to remain in their beloved Nevada “Silver State” and retire in Pahrump where Rick could play golf at his home course in Mountain Falls, build their backyard oasis cactus gardens and where they both could continue to celebrate their shared passion for the many joys of nature.
On behalf of the Davidsaver family, thank you all for sharing your kindness, warm thoughts, great memories and loving prayers.
At a later date, Rick will be laid to rest at the Northern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada.
In lieu of flowers, please make a small donation in Rick’s memory to your favorite charity.
