Manny Esquivel passed away on April 13, 2020 at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. Manny was born on April 23, 1971 in Coalcoman, Michoacán, Mexico to Manuel C Esquivel and Fidelina Esquivel.
Manny and his family moved to Winnemucca in 1976 from Mexico. Manny graduated from Albert M. Lowry High School. Manny belonged to St. Paul’s Catholic Church and the Winnemucca Golf Course Men’s Club.
Manny was in a man’s body with a mind of a child and a heart of a giant. Manny knew how to live his life to the fullest no matter what.
He would shed light on the bleakest of situations and had the charisma and gift to bring happiness and laughter to any situation.
When Manny entered any room or area, there was no mistaking who was in the room. His sense of humor and ability to bring laughter to any situation, were truly gifts from God.
On his free time, he loved to hunt, spend time with friends and family, and most importantly play a good round of golf.
Like he used to say, “A bad game of golf beats the heck of out of a great day at work”.
Manny was a free spirit and loved to be out in nature. Whether it was hunting for game or trying to catch a fish, he was always in unison with nature.
He also loved to raise animals like cows, goats, pigs, chickens, and etc.
He treated his animals like they were part of his family and cared for them as such.
Manny also had a soft heart for helping his friends and family. During his free time, he would help any friend or family in need and expected nothing in return.
He would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed and never thought twice about it.
He was especially fond of his nephews and nieces, especially those that had the same interests as he did. A great example of this was teaching his nephew Landon how to play golf.
Not only did Landon enjoy a good golf outing with his uncle Manny but he proficiently learned how to play golf from his uncle.
Landon has won several junior golf tournaments, and this is a testament to his uncle Manny’s love for the game, but more importantly trying to teach his nephew how to play a sport he loved.
Manny is survived by his fiancé, Kathryn “Kat” Ourada the “love of his life”.
His daughter, Yarelli Guadalupe Vadillo. Parents, Manuel C Esquivel and Fidelina Esquivel. Siblings, Saul , Teodomiro “Teo”, Crespin and Fidel Esquivel, Maria Aguilar and Olivia Prado. As well as numerous nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Miguel Mendoza Guizar and Maria Rita Castaneda Barragan and paternal grandparents, Adelaida Castaneda Barragan and Moises Esquivel Figueroa.
The Esquivel Family would like to thank Humboldt General Hospital Staff, Saint Mary’s ICU unit and all of the Winnemucca Community for all their prayers and support.
