Sandra Kay Rogers McLinden passed away much too soon on Friday, April 3, 2020 with her loving family by her side.
She was born the thirteenth child of Clarence and Mary Rogers on December 28, 1961 in Sandpoint Idaho.
Growing up in the family home at Trout Creek, Montana, Sandy attended Trout Creek Grade School, then attended high school in Noxon.
Sandy married her best friend and love of her life Alan McLinden on June 30, 1979 and they began their life together living in Libby Montana.
Involved in basketball, softball, community events and helping others, friends were naturally drawn to Sandy and Al as they welcomed so many into their lives. Their beautiful daughter Amy blessed them here in 1986. Mining brought the family to Winnemucca Nevada in 1988 and they were blessed with son Craig in 1989. Right away new friendships formed.
Sandy worked for Spare Time Bowling Center where she remained 30 years until her passing. Sandy thought of others first and showed her kind heart and willingness to help anyone and everyone.
She was a mother, teacher, entertainer, and friend to so many, it is rare to find a person she met that didn’t have a wonderful story to share about her.
Her parents preceded her in death along with sisters Darlene, Linda, Laurie, and brother Arnold.
She is survived by her children Amy McLinden, son Craig (Korey) McLinden, grandchildren Kenzi, Kya, and Mykena, godchildren Justin (Carley) Thompson, Wade (Stephanie) Thompson, Eric (Tracie) Thompson. Also brothers Clyde (Vickie), Larry (Cindy), Don (Lonna), Daryl (Kay), Jerry (Dee), Steve (Eddie), and sisters Merna and Sharon (Mike) numerous nieces and nephews, Aunt Helen Rackley, and Uncle Harry Potter.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held at a later date, one in Winnemucca and another in Montana where she will be laid to rest.
