The Lowry High School volleyball team collected its first Northern 3A victory of the season, beating North Valleys in four sets on Friday night in Winnemucca.
All four sets were decided by four points or less, with Lowry winning the first two sets 25-21. The third set went into extra time, with the Panthers pulling out the 26-24 win to keep the match going.
The fourth and final set proved to be just as close, as both teams battled it out to the end with Lowry hanging on to win 25-22 to improve to 1-5 in the Northern 3A.
Truckee (7-0) and South Tahoe (6-0) are atop the standings, while Fernley (7-1) is third.
Dayton (5-3), Elko (4-3) and Churchill County (3-3) hold the final playoff spots. Lowry is tied with Spring Creek and are two matches behind Churchill County for the final playoff spot.
Lowry travels to Sparks on Wednesday (today) and return home this weekend for two homecoming matches, starting on Friday at 6 p.m. against Elko. Spring Creek visits Winnemucca on Saturday for a noon match.
