The Battle Mountain High School boys soccer team began a four-match road trip this past weekend in eastern Nevada.
The Longhorns were in Ely on Friday afternoon and suffered a 6-0 loss to White Pine.
Battle Mountain played the 80-minute match without a sub.
The Bobcats scored in the eighth and 26th minute to lead 2-0 at halftime.
White Pine broke the match open in the second half with three goals in a six-minute span. The Bobcats scored in the 50th, 54th and 56th minute to lead 5-0.
White Pine scored its final goal in the 68th minute.
West Wendover knocks off Battle Mountain
Battle Mountain closed out the trip in West Wendover on Saturday and lost 4-1 to the Wolverines.
West Wendover took a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes of play and did not give up the lead from there.
Battle Mountain picked up a goal in the second half, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
Battle Mountain dropped to 2-4 in the Northern 3A 'B' division.
Fernley leads the division at 4-0. White Pine, Yerington and West Wendover are tied for second at 3-2. The top three teams advance to the regional playoffs in November in Fallon.
Battle Mountain travels to Fernley on Friday for a 3 p.m. start and Yerington on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Battle Mountain is back home on Friday, Oct. 11.
