Battle Mountain’s Destiny Villanueva paced the field, as the Lady Longhorns hosted schools from around northern Nevada in a league tournament Wednesday at Mountain View Golf Course.
Villanueva won low-medalist honors with a round of 99 and was the only golfer to break 100 on the day.
Battle Mountain finished second in the team standings with a 475.
Adrianna Robles carded a 114 for the Lady Longhorns and Charley Gusky (128) and Emilee Henning (134) rounded out the scores for Battle Mountain.
Wells won the team title with a 440 and three golfers finish in the top six. Mackenzie Watchtel was second at 107, Holly Pearson was fifth with a 108 and Grace Calton was sixth at 109.
West Wendover had the only other team score at 493 and the Wolverines’ Rebecca Wahlstrom was third at 107, while White Pine’s Andrea Overson also shot 107 to finish fourth on the scorecard tiebreaker.
Battle Mountain travels to Elko on Wednesday for its next tournament at Ruby View Golf Course.
