The Battle Mountain High School girls soccer team celebrated homecoming week with a 2-0 win over West Wendover.
Adalynn Ortiz gave the Lady Longhorns a 1-0 lead in the first half and Zarina Ceja provided an insurance goal for Battle Mountain in the second half.
The victory was the first to for the Lady Longhorns in league play this season.
Battle Mountain hosted White Pine on Friday and lost 7-0. The match was scoreless at halftime, when the Ladycats scored all seven goals in the final 40 minutes.
Battle Mountain travels to Dayton on Friday for a 4 p.m. match and Whittell on Saturday for a 1 p.m. start.
