The Battle Mountain High School boys soccer team closed out its home schedule this past weekend with a pair of ties.
Battle Mountain rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit to White Pine on Friday afternoon to pull out a 3-3 tie. The Longhorns netted all three of their goals in the final 40 minutes.
The Bobcats had beaten the Longhorns 6-0 in White Pine on Sept. 21 in Ely.
Battle Mountain took a 1-0 lead in the first half against West Wendover off a goal by Kelvin Diaz.
After being held scoreless for the first 40 minutes, the Wolverines scored twice in the second half to leave Battle Mountain with a 2-2 tie.
West Wendover won the first match-up 4-1.
Battle Mountain is now 2-6-2 in the Northern 3A 'B' division with two matches to play
Battle Mountain travels to Dayton on Friday for a 2 p.m. match and the season finale is Saturday at Whittell at noon.
Fernley leads the division at 9-0-0, while Yerington is second at 6-2-0. West Wendover is third at 4-4-2 and Dayton (4-3-1) and White Pine (4-5-1) are fourth and fifth, respectively.
The top three teams advance to the Northern 3A Regional Championship in Fallon on Nov. 7-9.
The top five teams from the Northern 3A 'A' division also qualify for the regional tournament.
